The artwork "Moneytree" consists of four sections, which can be freely arranged from the 20 square modules provided – a deliberate reference to how humankind shapes and orders nature according to its own desires. The upper section depicts the treetop with spiraling swirls of round banknote fragments. The lower section features a mighty trunk with a heart at its center, flanked by two smaller trees whose crowns also contain banknote fragments. Behind the seemingly pristine nature, money and profit are always visible. It is particularly significant that these are devalued banknotes – a symbol of the exchange of living nature for ultimately worthless paper money. The imagery is created using four different frottage stencils. Just as nature follows a genetic blueprint, the artist also works with a fixed design "blueprint." However, much like in nature, the same origin never leads to identical results: each module, each combination, and each color scheme remains unique. Thus, “Moneytree” combines the themes of nature, value, repetition and change in both content and technique.
